Our First Anniversary

Apparently over 600,000 new businesses are registered in the UK every year. That’s more than every man, woman and child in Bristol starting their own venture every year. So, when we formed Rebus Medical at the end of 2018, statistically speaking, it was no big deal.

It felt like a big deal.

We both left good jobs with limited personal savings and no external investment, it was undoubtedly a risk. But we backed ourselves, and our network and it was worth it. This month we celebrate our first year of trading and are very proud of what we have achieved.

The first hurdle was to just survive the first year, a feat that around 20% of new companies don’t. Not only are we still trading after 12 months but we have managed to grow our business. In November we employed two consultants to expand our capacity and both Molly and Joanne are already living up to the faith we put in them. We’ve also found a team of amazing specialist service providers to help provide us with the financial, legal and commercial know-how involved in setting up a new consulting business capable of serving a global client base.

On launching Rebus we needed to grow our client base from scratch, utilising our network we built a book of new clients and have been involved in some fascinating and deeply rewarding projects over the past 12 months. With 2019 drawing to a close we are now busy planning what is set to be a busy Q1 / Q2 for 2020, continuing to work alongside new clients and re-establishing links with some familiar faces as well.  

We’ve put ourselves on the map. When we started, we were working from home or in-house at our client’s premises but now our team are based in a great office in central Bristol. 

So, what’s next?  With our added capacity we’re planning on growing our client base but are keen to ensure that we stay focused and can service our trusted clients thoroughly, helping them deliver world-class medical devices to patients and healthcare professional around the globe ensuring the delivery of high quality, reliable and robust HFE services at the core of what we do.
